Use of sugar in a microalgae culture in order to decrease the autoflocculation thereof

Liquid culture medium comprises greater than 1.5 pts. wt. of sugar. Independent claims are included for: (1) use of a microalgae culture medium to reduce self-flocculation of the microalgae including 1-20 wt.% of sugar; (2) a microalgae concentrate including 80-99 pts. wt. of culture of microalgae, 1-10 pts. wt. of water and 1-20 pts. wt. of sugar; (3) preparing microalgae concentrate comprising adding 1-20 pts. wt. of sugar to a culture of microalgae, drying the microalgae until the water content is less than 10%, and freezing the microalgae culture; and (4) transporting microalgae including adding a culture of microalgae with 1-20 pts. wt. of sugar before transporting in liquid form.
