917,973. Inserting insulation into coils. PAL-MAGNETON, NARODNI PODNIK. Jan. 15, 1960 [Jan. 19, 1959], No. 1610/60. Class 120 (2). In a device for inserting insulating layers between successive windings of a coil 1, the insulating material 4 is inserted over an air cushion in a track 2 for guiding the material as the direction of lay of the winding is changed, the air for the cushion being supplied through an electromagnetically operated air valve 7 to oblique nozzles 9 below the rear of the guide track. Pairs of contacts 10 and 11 in the actuating circuit of the valve 7, are associated with the wire guiding members and the apparatus for changing the direction of lay of the wire so that the valve is opened and closed at the appropriate times to allow a pulse of air from the pressurized reservoir 6 to flow through the nozzles 9 and carry the insulating sheet 4 forward into the coil. The sheets 4 are supplied to the guide in known manner and are smoothed during winding by lightly sprung fingers 3.
|
