The system (10) has a data carrier (14) e.g. radio frequency identification (RFID) carrier, storing data. A write/read device (12) contactlessly writes data at the carrier and contactlessly reads the data from the carrier. An aperture antenna (20) e.g. slot cable (21), with slots (34) is attached at the write/read device. The aperture antenna forms a linear antenna with the slots that are spaced in a longitudinal extension direction of the aperture antenna. The write/read device provides energy for data exchange with the write/read device. An independent claim is also included for a method for contactless writing and/or reading a data carrier.
