The present invention relates to a method for controlling the flow of liquid metal in a crystallizer for a continuous casting of a thin flat slab. Especially, the present method is applied to a crystallizer having a surrounding wall for forming an accommodation volume for molten liquid metal capable of being introduced through an emission device arranged in the middle of melting. The present method includes: a step for arranging a plurality of electromagnetic brakes for generating brake zones inside the molten metal; and a step for activating the electromagnetic brakes in group or independently in accordance with specific hydrodynamic parameters of the liquid metal.
