PURPOSE: An extended gray code counter circuit and a method for driving thereof are provided to enable a high-speed data processing by a simple method while maintaining the size and operation frequency of a converter circuit. CONSTITUTION: An extended gray code counter circuit(10) comprises an additional gray code counter unit(12), a basic gray code counter circuit(11), and a memory(15). The additional gray code counter unit outputs n-bits of gray codes generated based on a clock generator which drives an n-bit gray code counter circuit. The memory stores the n-bits of gray codes and the gray codes generated by the additional gray code counter unit as an expanded gray code. The basic gray code counter unit outputs the n-bits of gray codes. |
