The purpose of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for preventing a vehicle from colliding with a rear obstacle, wherein braking force is controlled according to a distance from a rear obstacle by adjusting reaction force exerted on a brake pedal according to the distance from the rear obstacle when a driver steps on the pedal with the same force. Accordingly, the present invention provides the system for preventing a vehicle from colliding with a rear obstacle, comprising a distance sensor for measuring a distance from a rear obstacle; a dual brake valve operating along with the brake pedal; an actuator for compressing and restoring a reaction force spring for elastically supporting the first inlet valve of the dual brake valve; and a control device for controlling the operation of the actuator according to a distance signal from the distance sensor if a backward motion signal is received from a transmission. |
