The present invention relates to a wood pellet boiler having a taper type burner and an operating method thereof capable of being dropped to the burner again even though charcoal and ash float during a combustion. For the forementioned, the present invention provides: the burner (100) including a main body of a hollow hole in which a wood pellet is burnt and at least one lateral side penetration hole (116) is formed in a lateral side, a bottom surface (120) which is formed in the lower part of the main body (114) and has a bottom penetration hole (125), a taper part (112) which is positioned in the upper part of the main body (114) and is inclined in a direction of narrowing a flow cross section area, and a fuel input part (110) which is positioned in the upper part of the taper part (112), is formed to be inclined in a direction of widening the flow cross section area, and induces the input of the wood pellet (150); a housing (130) which surrounds the burner (100) at an interval which is separated from the main body (114); and a bottom housing (140) which surrounds the bottom surface (120). |
