A recording film sensitive to wavelengths of 200 mÁ or less comprises a tetrazolium salt insensitive to visible light embedded in a bonding agent, said salt having one of the general formula:- wherein R 1 <SP>1</SP>, R 1 <SP>11</SP>,R 2 <SP>1</SP> and R 2 <SP>11</SP> are selected from the following:- phenyl, naphthyl, alkylenedioxy-phenyl, or phenyl substituted by o or p-alkyl, aryl, halogen, hydroxy or alkoxy groups or by 3, 4- halogens or 2, 4, 6-halogens, X is perchlorate and Z is naphthylene, phenylene, biphenylene, diphenylsulphon or o,o<SP>1</SP>-dimethoxy-biphenylene. The bonding agent may be cellulose acetate and the sensitive layer may contain reductones or aromatic hydrozines. The support may be of a polyterephthalic ester and the reverse side thereof may carry an electrically conducting layer. Specification 670, 883 is referred to. |
