PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter monitoring method and foreign matter monitoring device capable of reducing the burden of a worker and improving the working efficiency.SOLUTION: The foreign matter monitoring device includes: an imaging device 2 for imaging a flow-down liquid F; an arithmetic processing device 3 for creating a monitoring image 21 from a picked-up image obtained by the imaging device 2; and a monitor 4 for outputting the monitoring image 21. The arithmetic processing device 3 detects a foreign matter P from the picked-up image, calculates the size of the foreign matter P, creates the monitoring image 21 by displaying the foreign matter P while the size of the foreign matter P is overlaid on the picked-up image, outputs, to the monitor 4, a history display 41 in which the detection history of a foreign matter to be monitored having a size of a threshold α or larger is displayed in the chronological order, counts the number of foreign matters to be monitored per unit time, and outputs, to the monitor 4, a number display 42 in which the counted number of foreign matters to be monitored is displayed along the time axis. |
