PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus and method of water treatment which can highly efficiently recover oil from water to be treated, such as waste water, at a low cost without generating sludge.SOLUTION: A water treatment apparatus includes: an adsorbent storage tank which stores an oil adsorbent containing inorganic particles; a reaction tank for contacting oil-containing water to be treated with an oxidizing agent; and a solid-liquid separation tank which is located on the downstream side of the adsorbent storage tank and the reaction tank, includes a filter having a horizontal plane with respect to an installation face, and divides its internal space into upper and lower parts by the filter. The water treatment apparatus also includes: an adsorbent supply line which supplies the adsorbent from the adsorbent storage tank to the solid-liquid separation tank to form an adsorbent layer on the filter; and a water to be treated supply line for supplying the water to be treated from the reaction tank to the adsorbent layer in the solid-liquid separation tank. |
