<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit pattern medium (magnetic recording medium) for heat assistant magnetic recording, having steep temperature distribution and capable of recording without influencing an adjoining bit.SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium includes a magnetic recording layer 4 formed on a substrate 1 and a substrate. The magnetic recording layer 4 includes a record section 6 in which magnetic material is formed as a bit pattern, and a packed bed 7 filled up with nonmagnetic material in periphery of the record section 6. Thermal conductivity of the nonmagnetic material is relatively higher than the magnetic material.</p> |
