PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus which recognize a position of droplet application in an absolute positional relationship, and make and land a minute droplet of microorganisms on a medium by a compact and simplified jetting mechanism without using a camera.SOLUTION: A droplet discharge apparatus according to the present invention discharges microorganisms onto a medium for separation and/or arrangement of the microorganisms, and comprises: a holding vessel for holding a liquid in which the microorganisms are dispersed; a discharge port which communicates with the holding vessel and discharges the liquid as droplets onto the medium; and an optical fiber having an opening for optical measurement in the proximity of the discharge port. A target point on the medium to which a discharged droplet is applied is determined by the light received by the opening of the optical fiber and then the droplet is jetted for application onto the medium. |
