PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter-type EL display device in which sufficient brightness and contrast can be obtained and color mixture is hardly caused, even when pixels are reduced in size.SOLUTION: An EL display device 100 according to the present invention includes: a first substrate 1; a circuit layer 2 formed on the first substrate 1; a color selectively reflecting layer 11 formed on the upper layer of the circuit layer 2; a lower electrode 5 formed on the upper layer of the color selectively reflecting layer 11; a white emitting EL layer 7 formed on the upper layer of the lower electrode 5; an upper electrode 8 formed on the upper layer of the EL layer 7; and a sealing layer 9 formed on the upper layer of the upper electrode 8.
