The present invention relates to a method for controlling a coagulation thickness in a direct mold capable of controlling the coagulation thickness of cast slabs made by coagulating molten steel by changing the speed of casting on a basis of the measured and evaluated superheat degree of molten steel in the event of continuous casting. The method for controlling a coagulation thickness in a direct mold includes: a step of measuring and evaluating the total heat of cast slabs by substituting a variable caused by casting in a continuous casting process to a relational expression; a step of calculating the superheat degree of molten steel according to the temperature difference between inflow cooling water and outflow cooling water which cool a mold according to the measured total heat of cast slabs and calculating the amount of casting speed decreased depending on the calculated superheat degree of molten steel; and a step of controlling the casting speed of mold with the calculated decreased amount of casting speed. |
