PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal dividing device capable of preventing encoding efficiency from being reduced when encoding a video image through a plurality of encoding processes which are operated in parallel.SOLUTION: In the video signal dividing device, at least one of N (N: an integer equal to or greater than 2) pieces of encoders operating in parallel utilizes a temporal correlation of video signals and the video signals are supplied to an encoder which performs an encoding process. The video signal dividing device comprises a dividing section which iteratively divides an input video signal into N pieces of frame groups including a plurality of temporally continued frames to generate divided signals and distributes the generated divided signals in order towards the N pieces of encoders.
