<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to effectively utilize electric power charged in a power storage device to reduce power consumption, without using a large-capacity power storage device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a cooling fan 28 for an image forming part; a power storage part 24 for storing electric power from a switching power supply part 22; a first switch 26 for selecting the switching power supply part 22 or the power storage part 24 to supply electric power to the cooling fan 28; and a CPU 2 which drives the switch 26, supplies electric power from the power supply part 22 to the cooling fan 28 in operation mode, and supplies electric power from the power storage part 24 to the cooling fan 28 in energy-saving mode. The power storage part 24 is formed of electric double-layer capacitors C1, C2, and includes a second switch Q1 for selecting parallel connection/series connection between C1, C2, and a charging control part 23 for detecting the amount of power stored in the power storage part 24. The CPU 2 switches the second switch Q1 on the basis of the detected amount of power stored.</p> |
