<p>Disclosed are an axle beam and a method for manufacturing the axle beam having excellent impact toughness and strength to be used as a material of an axle beam of a commercial vehicle by controlling an alloying element. According to the present invention, the axle beam comprises 0.21 to 0.28 wt% of carbon (C), 0.15 to 0.35 wt% of silicon (Si), 1.40 to 1.70 wt% of manganese (Mn), 0.03 wt% or less of phosphorus (P), 0.03 to 0.07 wt% of sulfur (S), 0.20 to 0.40 wt% of chrome (Cr), 0.05 to 0.09 wt% of nickel (Ni), 0.005 to 0.03 wt% of molybdenum (Mo), 0.015 to 0.025 wt% of aluminum (Al), 0.25 wt% or less of copper (Cu), 0.10 to 0.20 wt% of vanadium (V), 0.01 to 0.02 wt% of titanium (Ti), 0.006 to 0.01 wt% of nitrogen (N), and the remaining amount of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities and has an impact value of 59 J/cm^2 or more.</p> |
