PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle equipped with an engine and an electric heating type catalyst (referred to as "EHC" thereafter), in which exhaust emission control performance is properly secured at or after starting the engine.SOLUTION: In the case of determining that EHC energization is required on the basis of an EHC temperature before starting the engine (YES in S10), a control device (referred to as "ECU" thereafter) mounted on the vehicle equipped with the engine and the EHC detects a vehicle speed V and computes a vehicle acceleration α from the change rate of the vehicle speed V (S11, S12). The ECU uses the vehicle speed V and the vehicle acceleration α for determining EHC energization power Pehc (S13) to supply the EHC energization power Pehc to the EHC (S14). |
