PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling gear change in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A system for controlling gear change in a vehicle, comprises a detent mechanism having a steering wheel, an idle place, a first place, and a second place. The detent mechanism is coupled to the steering wheel. The system also includes a paddle shifter coupled to the steering wheel and the detent mechanism, and having an idle position having no related function when the paddle shifter is at the idle place, a first operating position having a related first function when the paddle shifter is at the first place, and a second operating position having a related second function when the paddle shifter is at the second place. The related first function is different from the related second function.
