PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball end mill capable of obtaining sufficiently-excellent cut surface roughness after cutting.SOLUTION: At least one slit 18 is formed on a partial spherical part 16a radially from the tip, and the edge 18a of the slit 18 functions as a ball blade in a cutting work, and therefor basically, by applying the specification of contact of the entire part of the partial spherical part 16a, a cutting work emphasizing finishing can be achieved, and even when an uncut portion still remains, not only finish cutting but also processing similar to grinding can be performed by the slit 18 functioning as a cutting blade. Namely, a ball end mill 10 capable of obtaining sufficiently-excellent cut surface roughness after cutting can be provided. |
