PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting apparatus performing a protective operation when an LED module is removed or disconnected, and lighting when the LED module is connected.SOLUTION: An LED lighting apparatus includes an input rectification smoothing circuit 30, a DC-DC converter circuit 40 for converting a DC voltage of the input rectification smoothing circuit 30 into a predetermined DC voltage, and a no-load detection circuit 41 for detecting that a load connected to the DC-DC converter circuit 40 is no load. The DC-DC converter circuit 40 has a switching element Q2 for connecting and disconnecting the DC voltage outputted from the input rectification smoothing circuit 30, a control device IC2 for tuning on and off the switching element Q2 at a certain cycle by outputting a pulse for each certain cycle, and an output rectification smoothing circuit 50 for converting the DC voltage into the predetermined DC voltage to output it by connecting and disconnecting the DC voltage by the switching element Q2.
