PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for identifying the locations of individual sample containers so that samples can be quickly accessed.SOLUTION: At least one container holder 26 having a series of container spots at which sample containers are held is included, and information tag that is used to store/retrieve machine readable information on the locations of the sample containers is attached to the container holder. A system in the invention also includes a handheld device that can read the information provided by the information tag, and the handheld device includes an input unit with which information on a sample container whose location is to be identified is input and an output unit with which the location of the sample container whose location is to be identified is output according to the information on the series of the container spots that is stored in the information tag. |
