PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device that attains both a reduction in a load on image processing and high image definition by employing high-resolution nozzles.SOLUTION: A recording device includes a recording head H2 having a nozzle array that includes plural nozzles, and performs image formation by jetting inks out of the nozzles. The recording device includes calculation means that calculates dot layout record data from an input image, data processing means that selects image formation nozzles on the basis of the positional relationships of the nozzles to a target image formation position, and assigns record data, and recording means that jets the inks out of the nozzles on the basis of the assigned record data. The calculation means calculates a dot layout at a resolution lower than the resolution of the nozzles included in the nozzle array. The data processing means sorts the nozzles of the nozzle array into plural nozzle sets NS211 to NS222 each including nozzles that exhibit the resolution at which the dot layout is calculated, and selects a nozzle set and nozzles, which are used for image formation, on the basis of the positional relationships of the nozzles to the target image formation position. |
