PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation accuracy of a negative electrode reserve amount in a nickel hydrogen battery.SOLUTION: A battery system controls charging and discharging of a nickel hydrogen battery (11), and has a temperature sensor (23) for detecting a temperature of the nickel hydrogen battery and a controller (30) for controlling charging and discharging of the nickel hydrogen battery when the negative electrode reserve amount of the nickel hydrogen battery is smaller than a target value. The controller acquires a temperature of the nickel hydrogen battery when charging and discharging and a temperature of the nickel hydrogen battery when the charging and discharging is not performed, by the temperature sensor. The controller calculates the negative electrode reserve amount corresponding to the acquired temperature by using the corresponding relationship between the temperature of the nickel hydrogen battery and the negative electrode reserve amount. |
