PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tread capable of improving workability, low fuel consumption properties, wet group performance and abrasion resistance in a good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a tread contains a rubber component, silica and a compound represented by the formula (1), one terminal of a conjugated diene polymer in the formula (1) is modifed, the content of the silica is 5 to 150 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component, and the content of the compound represented by the formula (1) is 0.5 to 30 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the silica. |
