PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp capable of being easily assembled.SOLUTION: The high-pressure discharge lamp includes: a coil 51a of a conductor 51; and an extension line 51c which extends toward the central axis J2 of the coil 51a being inclined in a direction away from the coil 51a with respect to a virtual plane S1 perpendicular to the central axis J2 of the coil 51a with a front end of the extension line 51c being in contact with or close to the surface of a portion AR of a sealing part 11 where a metal foil 23 is sealed therein.
