PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tread capable of improving low fuel consumption properties, wet grip performance, abrasion resistance and workability in a good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a rubber composition for a tread containing a rubber component, silica and a compound represented by the formula (I), and having the content of a conjugated diene polymer having a monomer unit based on the a conjugated diene and a monomer unit based on a compound represented by the formula (2) and the like of 5 mass% or more in 100 mass% of the rubber component, and the content of the silica of 5 to 150 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber composition. |
