PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus capable of surely preventing staying (jam) from occurring caused by unintentional bend of a recording medium when performing printing on the recording medium.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus 1 includes: conveying means for conveying a recording medium 100 having flexibility; a head unit 5 having a droplet discharge head 23 for discharging ink as droplets on the recording medium 100 conveyed by the operation of the conveying means, and a carriage 6 for supporting the droplet discharge head 23; moving means for making the head unit 5 move in the direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the recording medium 100 with respect to the recording medium 100; and bend stretching member 7 for stretching a bend 101 and eliminating the bend 101, when the bend 101 enough to interfere with the head unit 5 which moves by the operation of the moving means occurs in the recording medium 100. |
