PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a ring type network which is made port-redundant by a LAG function, from being segmented even in the case where multiple failures occur when switching a communication pathway by blocking a LAG port in response to the failure occurrence on the communication pathway in the network.SOLUTION: A communication apparatus comprises: a first LAG port formed from a plurality of first ports each for transmitting/receiving a frame and a control frame; a second LAG port formed from a plurality of second ports each for transmitting/receiving a frame and a control frame; and control means which blocks all the plurality of first ports when a failure is detected in any one of the plurality of first ports but no failure occurs in the other ports on a ring constituted by the apparatus per se, and transmits a control frame from the other LAG port where no failure occurs and, in the case where a failure occurs in the other port than the LAG port including the fault port on the ring constituted by the apparatus per se, degenerates the LAG port including the fault port. |
