PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenol-containing beverage which hardly exhibits the astringent taste or astringency derived from polyphenol, even with a high content of polyphenol exhibiting astringent taste or astringency.SOLUTION: A Siraitia grosvenorii extract as an astringent taste masking agent is blended into a polyphenol-containing beverage at a concentration causing no feeling of sweetness, so that the astringent taste can be suppressed without spoiling the flavor of tea. The masking effect can be particularly enhanced in combination use of a fruit-based flavor, a non-alcoholic beverage flavor, and a sugar flavor.
