PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning device capable of scanning a document of a large size.SOLUTION: The scanning device comprises: a base with a transparent document placing area installed thereon; a movable rack movably mounted under the document placing area; and a scanning sensor which is mounted to the movable rack and scans a document placed in the document placing area. The scanning sensor is smaller in size than the document placing area and moved with the movable rack to scan the entire area of the document placing area.
