PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for optimizing the spot size of a laser beam to prevent the deterioration of picture quality in the case of changing a projection distance or an angular field.SOLUTION: A laser beam display device for scanning with a laser beam to perform image display includes: a light source which outputs a laser beam having a beam focal point at a predetermined position; a scanning mirror which reflects the laser beam from the light source, and oscillates in a direction of one axis or in directions of two axes; an expandable element disposed on the back face of the reflection surface of the scanning mirror to deform the reflection surface shape of the scanning mirror; range-finding means which measures a projection distance for performing image display; and an expandable element driving part which controls the deformation volume of the expandable element, therein the expandable element is deformed in accordance with the projection distance such that the reflection surface of the scanning mirror is deformed in an irregular shape, and the position of the beam focal point of the laser beam is changed.
