PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus capable of improving display quality.SOLUTION: An element substrate includes: a pixel electrode 27 provided in a display area E; a first peripheral electrode 40 provided between the display area E and a seal material 14 in plan view; and a second peripheral electrode 50 provided between the first peripheral electrode 40 and the seal member 14 in plan view. A counter substrate includes: a pixel electrode 27; and a counter electrode 31 provided so as to face the first peripheral electrode 40 and the second peripheral electrode 50. A constant potential is applied to the counter electrode 31, an AC voltage is applied to the first peripheral electrode 40, and a constant potential different from that for the counter electrode 31 is applied to the second peripheral electrode 50. |
