<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reading apparatus that prevents a reading error from occurring by reflection of the ambient environment (an electric lamp, an air conditioner, or the like) on the surface and the reflection overlapping on a bar code when reading the bar code printed on a surface of a material the surface of which provides substantially uniform reflection (mirror surface state), such as metal and a wafer.SOLUTION: The optical information reading apparatus according to the invention comprises, for example, a solid colour plate material providing a contrast between bar code reading means and the bar code, the plate material being reflected on a bar code reading surface. This improves the contrast of the bar code by a shadow of the solid colour plate material, thus eliminating an influence of reflection of the ambient environment with a simple structure and enabling stable reading due to improved contrast.</p> |
