A method to select boars according to stress-predisposition of progeny thereof includes carrying out recording the productivity of the progeny of the boars for the period of growing, additional growing and feeding, determining the corresponding range of the boars according to the final productivity and determining the possibility of further use thereof for reproducing thereof. In doing so at the first stage after weaning piglets the boars are assessed according to the quality of the progeny obtained from covered sows according to the valuation instruction and their class is determined. At the second stage the individual stress-predisposition of piglets in a nest of each sow is determined according to the coefficient of change in live weight (CChLW) of the piglets on the 10day after the effect of production stresses. At the third stage percentage of progeny in their nests with differing stress-resistance is determined. At the fourth stage – at the age of 6 months the class of boars is determined by the progeny’s own productivity according to the valuation instruction. At the fifth stage elite boars, which have 60-100 % stress-resistant progeny in the nests, obtained from the sows covered thereby, are selected. |
