PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect that a battery-containing device or foreign body is set on a charging stand in a quick and stable manner with a simple circuit configuration.SOLUTION: A contactless charging method sets a battery-containing device 50 on a charging stand 10, electromagnetically couples a power receiving coil 51 of the battery-containing device 50 with a power transmission coil 11 of the charging stand 10, transmits power from the power transmission coil 11 to the power receiving coil 51 by electromagnetic inductive operation, and charges a battery 52 of the battery-containing device 50 by power induced at the power receiving coil 51. The method outputs multiple detection pulses with different frequencies at a prescribed time interval from the power transmission coil 11, detects current flowing through the power transmission coil 11 in a state of outputting the detection pulses, and determines which is set on the charging stand 10, a foreign body 58 or the battery-containing device 50, from the detection level of detected current. |
