The present invention relates to an apparatus for analyzing a floating population by using a user terminal in order to analyze the floating population of a predetermined area by using location information collected from the user terminal such as a smart phone. In particular, the apparatus includes a cell index generation module for classifying a total map area into virtual cells of a predetermined size in map data information stored in a database, and giving an index to each classified cell; a cell coordinate mapping module for counting the number of users per cell by mapping the location information collected from each user terminal to each cell generated by the cell index generation module; and an error correction module for correcting the number of counted users by giving a weight according to an error range corresponding to each collected location information.
