PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a 2-(4-formylphenyl)propionic acid is provided to manufacture a high purity target material by low costs under an environmentally friendly atmosphere by using a carbon catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a 2-(4-formylphenyl)propionic acid using a carbon catalyst comprises a step of dissolving a 2-[4-(hydroxymethyl)phenyl]propionic acid in an ester solvent and adding an 1N acid aqueous solution and a carbon catalyst; a step of injecting a NaOCl aqueous solution at 30-40°C and stirring the solution; a step of filtrating the carbon catalyst, cleaning the residual solution by a Na2S2O3 aqueous solution to decompose and remove an unreacted NaOCl; and a step of separating and concentrating the organic layer and crystallizing it by a mixed solvent of an ethyl acetate and a saturated hydrocarbon solvent. |
