PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic coating method that can sufficiently adhere a coating material on an insulative surface to be coated with the coating material by electrostatic force, even when the surface to be coated with the coating material has insulative property such as a surface of a brake pad 1 having an insulative pad part 3 or a surface of a glass bottle.SOLUTION: An electrostatic coating method is characterized by: setting a relationship between an object temperature of a coated object, and an ambient temperature and humidity in the relationship of causing dew condensation on the surface of the coated object; causing dew condensation on the surface of the coated object before coating; and adhering the coating material on the surface of the coated object with the dew condensation caused thereon by electrostatic force. As a method to set the relationship of causing the dew condensation on the surface of the coated object, a method of cooling the coated object is adopted along with a method of leaving the coated object in the atmosphere subjected to the humidifying and warming. |
