<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve device for an internal combustion engine, capable of actualizing an easy multi-stage variation of valve characteristics.SOLUTION: The variable valve device for an internal combustion engine includes a variable mechanism unit 300 for changing the valve characteristics of an intake valve 31, a control shaft 340 for operating the variable mechanism unit 300, a cam 530 for moving the control shaft 340 in the axial direction, an electric motor 210 for turning the cam 530, and a gear mechanism 220 for transmitting the driving force of the motor 210 to the cam 530. A lock mechanism 600 is provided for engaging with a second gear 222 of the gear mechanism 220 to restrict the turn of the second gear 222.</p> |
