A reactive power compensating installation for 10 kV line comprises a bank of capacitors of corresponding power, a vacuum switch with in-built current transformers, a current-limiting single-phase reactor, an oil break with a bus and line isolators, and current and voltage transformers. A reactive power regulator is in series installed in the circuit, which measures values and signs of reactive powers consumed by a load in each phase, and give control signals to dual-way switches in a way that total reactive power of the connected capacitors would compensate inductive reactive power of the load in each phase. |
