The present invention relates to an imaging composition for detecting cyanide ions, and more particularly, to an imaging composition for detecting cyanide ions including a coumarin-Cu(II) complex denoted by chemical formula 2. Since the imaging composition for detecting cyanide ions according to the present invention shows distinct fluorescence enhancement in aqueous conditions when compared to other negative ions, cyanide ions in an aqueous medium may be selectively probed in an aqueous medium. In addition, since the imaging composition has a nonluminous-luminous type fluorescence mechanism having strong fluorescence, a small amount of the cyanide ions may be usefully probed, and the cyanide ions may be selectively detected in the cell of a living body.
