FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: abdominal ultrasonic examination is conducted to measure an area of longitudinal section of the liver along the abdominal midline, and along the right midclavicular line, and a lateral-lateral size of the liver to calculate by formula: volume of the liver = 604.3+L*(0.2474*S1+0.0879*S2) (cm), wherein L is a width of the liver (cm), S1 is an area of the longitudinal section of a right lobe of the liver (cm), while S2 is an area of the longitudinal section of a left lobe of the liver (cm).EFFECT: method provides more accurate determination of the volume of the liver as shown by the ultrasonic examination ensured by measuring the area of the longitudinal sections along the abdominal midline and midclavicular line, and the lateral-lateral size of the liver.2 tbl, 3 dwg, 1 ex |
