The present invention relates to a home network system providing a location-based service for a mobile communications terminal roamed to a visit network. The home network system comprises: an application server which provides a local information input screen when a location-based service is requested from a mobile communications terminal, and creates and provides a corresponding location-based service using location information when the location information is received; a geo-coder search server which searches a database and extracts latitude and longitude information matched to the local information, when the location information inputted through the local information input screen is received; and a location determination server which creates and transmits a GPS satellite information request message when the latitude and longitude information is received from the geo-coder search server, and transmits aiding information, including GPS satellite information, to the mobile communications terminal when the GPS satellite information is received. The mobile communications terminal receives local information and transmits the local information to the geo-coder search server, calculates GPS-based location information based on aiding information which is transmitted from the location determination server, transmits the calculated location information to an application providing server and receives a corresponding location-based service, thereby detecting the location of a user and providing a location-based service even when a roaming contract with a visit network is not made. |
