The present invention relates to an education system and method that enables a user to directly create educational content using a mobile terminal so that the educational content can be utilized for education for young children. According to the present invention, the education system using a mobile terminal matches an identification marker image for an educational target with basic educational content and stores the matched result and drives the basic educational content when the identification marker image is input through a camera. The education system includes a marker identifying module identifying an identification marker image; a content creating module which enables a user to create user created education content matching the identification marker image, and matches the identification marker image with the user created education content and stores the matched content; a content driving module which, when the identification marker image is identified by the marker identifying module, drives the basic educational content or the user created educational content; and an environment setting module which is adapted to set up an environment including the type and language of the driven educational content when the identification marker image is identified.
