The present invention discloses a sensing technology. Namely, a multimedia player for sensing a pattern code and a driving method thereof according to an embodiment of the present invention identify a pattern code by using a pattern code identifying pen, extract multimedia data, from a set-top box for identifying a pattern code, which corresponds with the identified pattern code, and control playing of the multimedia data so that the multimedia data stored in a memory pack attached on the set-top box for identifying a pattern code by using the pattern code identifying pen that identifies a pattern code printed on a pattern code printout can be easily called out, and the multimedia data played by the display device can be conveniently and promptly watched. Furthermore, the present invention provides various kinds of curriculum such as animation, storytelling and dancing to enable infants or preschool children to have an easy access to the contents to learn contents contained in the learning curriculum through the display device which greatly helps infants or preschool children develop intelligence, personality and sensitivity by enhancing learning efficiency. |
