The present invention relates to a device for processing image content in a user terminal and a method thereof capable of providing stereoscopic services based on converted stereoscopic image data from monoscopic image data in a user terminal having a hardware processing monoscopic image operation. For this, when stereoscopic content services are requested by a user, the present invention verifies if the user can use stereoscopic content services through information exchange with an application server. If the verification is confirmed, an application supporting, as a software, stereoscopic image process provided from the application server is received and installed, the installed application is operated according to the user′s request, and it is connected to the stereoscopic content server providing stereoscopic content. The user selects certain stereoscopic content using a service list provided from the stereoscopic content server through the operated application. The selected stereoscopic content is downloaded from the connected stereoscopic content server. The stereoscopic image can be played on the operated application using data corresponding to the selected stereoscopic content downloaded from the stereoscopic content server. |
