A method for driving an active barrier panel, which comprises an electrode unit including n barrier electrodes acting as openings transmitting light and n barrier electrodes acting as barrier parts blocking light (where n is natural number), comprises the steps of: calculating a crosstalk distribution for left and right eyes of a viewer with respect to each of 2n barrier shift conditions according to the position of the viewer; dividing an active region of the active barrier panel into one or more barrier blocks, based on a flat part in which a minimum crosstalk included in the crosstalk distribution is maintained; determining the barrier shift condition for each of the barrier blocks, such that the flat part is maintained; and driving the electrode unit included in the barrier block according to the determined barrier shift condition. Therefore, the optimal viewing distance of the viewer can be expanded by determining the barrier block and the barrier shift condition for the barrier block, such that the flat part of the crosstalk distributions of the left and right eyes are maintained according to the viewing position of the viewer, for example, a front, rear, left, or right position with respect to an optimal viewing distance, and driving the active barrier panel. |
