The present invention provides a method for driving a 3D image display apparatus. The 3D image display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display device, a patterned retarder, and polarized glasses. In the liquid crystal display device, an array substrate, in which a plurality of pixel lines are defined, is attached to a color filter substrate, with a liquid crystal layer being disposed therebetween. First and second polarization plates are attached to the outer surfaces of the array substrate and the color filter substrate. In the patterned retarder, a first phase pattern and a second phase pattern are alternately arranged on the outer surface of the second polarized plate to form circularly polarized states that are opposite to each other with respect to each of the pixel lines. In the method for driving the 3D image display apparatus, when assuming that an angle at which a user views the front side of the liquid display device is 0 degree, the order of a left-eye image signal and a right-eye image signal respectively applied to an odd pixel line and an even pixel line of the liquid display device is reversely changed with reference to a first angle in a vertical direction. |
