The present invention relates to an insulation detecting apparatus and method of an electric vehicle, and more specifically, to an insulation detecting apparatus and a method for measuring insulation impedance between a high-voltage battery and an inverter in the electric vehicle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the insulation detecting apparatus detects current leakage between the battery and the inverter and comprises a distribution unit distributing power applied from a battery power source; an insulation part connected to the inverter to prevent the power distributed by the distribution unit from being applied to a ground part; a measurement power unit supplying measurement power for detecting the current leakage; a switching unit for selecting a value of the power distributed by the distribution unit and a value of the power supplied from the measurement power unit; and a detecting unit connecting the distribution unit and the insulation unit and detecting current leakage between the battery and the inverter. |
